I just found your blog and wanted to say a quick ‘thank you’. I am an Iranian American born in Kansas City, Missouri and married an American boy from Parkville, Missouri. We have 3 children – Syrus Kouban (Sy – 6 years), Saman Khavan (Sam – 4 years), and Leila Parisa – 15 months. I kept my name too. It’s nice to see we’re not as odd as we feel sometimes. Your daughter is beautiful and your blog is great. Looking forward to more.

Wow! My husband went to school in Parkville, and he lived in Kansas City for many years. Sounds like we have a lot in common. I love your children’s names. One of my sisters is named Leila, and that has always been one of my favorite names. I look forward to hearing more from you. -Zahra
